Savannah port gets electric, mobile cranes

    hp/news.yahoo.com/savannah-port-upgrades-mobile-electric-201253454.html

The Port of Savannah leads the way in the US with four new electric, mobile cranes, saving millions of dollars on diesel fuel use, plus reducing emissions.

The Port of Savannah is a large part of Savannah's economic future bringing workers to the city from all over the US -- not just for jobs at the port, but all the businesses that grow from the port's growth like distribution centers and trucking companies.

    Savannah Ga is number 8!

I'm often asked by buyers who are looking to buy a home in Savannah Ga. what I think about the future of Savannah and its economy. I tell them with confidence I think the future is bright.

When the real estate market breaks out of the long downturn and slump, and there's evidence it's done so already and the recovery is beginning, baby boomers will sell their homes in the Northeast, the Midwest and the West, and they'll move south to places like Savannah and Charleston. This is happening already, and it will continue in a big way, I believe.

Also, the other day, I saw a report that mid level Wall Street employees are being asked to leave New York and relocate in a less expensive part of the country. I expect industry to move to Savannah in the near future (we have the infrastructure to attract hi-tech companies), although we already have a diverse economy with tourism, redistribution from the ever-growing port, a military base, fishing, Gulfstream and other industries.

Yes, I believe Savannah's future is bright, and home prices are still a bargain compared to the northeast and the west.
