Why I think Ardsley Park is one of the best neighborhoods in Savannah Ga

Ardsley%20Park%20Savannah%20Ga%20060.JPGDiversity is the number one reason. Everything about Ardsley Park is diverse, the residents, the styles, the size of homes, the prices, the condition of the homes -- just about anyone can find something they like in Ardsley Park.

With building starting in the late 30s and ending in the early 60s, the styles range from neo-Georgian to ranch. I've seen a couple of Prairie styles made popular by Frank Lloyd Wright and utilized mainly in the west.

Prices are rising to exclude many first time buyers who are looking for a price below $200,000, but every once in a while you can even find a home that needs some work under $200,000.

The location is excellent because it's consiered mid-town and it is in the middle of everything -- easy to get downtown, to the southside and to the beach.

I've listed all these reasons before, but the main attraction for me is something subjective -- the feel. Most of you will know what I mean by "feel" -- the sensations an environment creates: cozy, homey, peaceful, etc.

The eclectic nature of Ardsly Park homes and the surroundings create a feeling of "something different" -- and there is also a feeling of being transported back in time a bit. Not back in time in a negative, out-of-touch way but a feeling of something older that meshes with the present.
