Savannah Ga Real Estate Series - Southbridge

Southbridge is great community for young couples, middle-age professionals and retirees. It has a little bit of everything. The golf club is one of the best in Savannah and the new spa they built is a very nice addition.
The older section of Southbridge has mostly smaller homes, smaller than new construction in the back end of the neighborhood, and start in the high 200s. I have a neighborhood page on this site and you might have followed the link already. So, I will write a little about the surrounding area.
Southbridge has now been opened up in the back end and actually comes out on Highway 17, and on the way out is more development in what is known as Berwick Plantations -- there are some nice homes in Berwick, some that still go in the high 100s, and there is commercial development along Hwy 17 before getting to Berwick -- shops and restuarants and a large food store.
The Southbridge entrance is on Dean Forest Road about a mile from the interstate -- I-16. There s not much development on that end of Dean Forest Road. If you up Dean Forest to HWY 80 and go left, it takes you into Pooler, a growing town that connects with another interstate, I-95. Pooler is about 5 or 6 miles from Southbridge.
The location of Southbridge is one of its attractions, close to two interstates, close to shopping, close to downtown Savannah, about fifteen minutes, close to the airport, about 15 minutes, and close to the major industry.
Although it's not gated, it's a private community and is situated away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to get to the hustle and bustle without much trouble.
