Savannah Ga Homes - Diverse Options

1809_E_59th.JPGVisitors to Savannah are struck initially by the historic homes, and there are plenty of historic homes downtown. However, if visitors venture out they will see many options for ownership. Just outside the downtown historic district is Savannah's first subdivision, Ardsley Park, with European-influenced styles. These homes were built from the early 20th century until mid-century and every style imaginable from huge, spacious homes to 2 bedroom bungalows.

On Savannah's southside you will find homes built from the 1950s to new construction around Coffee Bluff and Georgetown. New construction is limited due to the lack of developable land, but you will still find projects scattered about, especially townhomes. There are many new constructed townhomes on the southside, some with great views of the surrounding marsh land. For second-homers or retirees, or first time buyers who are looking for value, these townhomes are a good option. The southside has much to offer in terms of shopping, services and dining.

Most the large new home development is outside of Savannah in places like Richmond Hill, Ga and Rincon, Ga. Richmond Hill is in Bryan County and has grown tremendously in the past ten years or so. Housing prices start at over $200,000 and go upwards to the millions in areas like Ford Plantation which has many beautiful waterfront lots and was once the vacation spot for then-owner Henry Ford.

Rincon is in Effingham County and is the center of many new home sites all around Effingham County. Prices are a little lower in Effingham, with some new homes as low as $150,000.

Then there are the islands around Savannah with different possibilities for those who love the water. Tybee island, Ga is about 25 minutes from Savannah and offers beachfront homes, and off-beach homes within walking distance to the beach. There are also some beautiful homes built along the back river going out to the ocean. The rivers coming into Savannah are perfect waterfront locations for those who crave great views, boating and access to the ocean. Wilmington Island is between downtown and Tybee Island and offers some the most beautiful waterfront properties in Savannah. South east in Savannah is Isle of Hope which is another unique location with older homes built on the river and has some the most scenic surroundings in all of Savannah.

Savannah is more than historic. Call me at 912-429-3431 for a tour of the area.
