Holiday Home Deals in Savannah Ga

I have noticed a substantial uptick in the real estate activity here in Savannah Ga. Perhaps the psychological effect of negative national news regarding the housing market is wearing off.
Many people are beginning to see that now is the best time to buy. Why is that? There are several reasons:
1. It’s near the end of the year and sellers who have their houses on the market are ready to sell before the end of the year.
2. Many buyers are becoming more savvy and know that November and December are great months to buy.
3. The national news of housing woes has stabilized the prices.
4. Mortgage rates are still good.
5. Builders are giving great incentives in order to reduce their inventory before the next year begins.
Notice I said “buyers” and not “lookers”. This time of the year there are fewer lookers and more serious buyers. The savvy buyer can find a deal in the next few months that might not be around after the beginning of the year.
This brings me to the outlook in Savannah, Ga for the coming year. I believe we will start seeing a lot of movement among baby boomers. The economy is, after all is said and done by politicians and pundits, in good shape. Many people believe that baby boomers will retire and become unproductive, but I believe that most people from that generation will continue to be productive and they will be moving around quite a bit.
This movement should keep the real estate market active for years to come. I believe in Savannah we will see more people choosing this area to semi-retire, to try a new career in their semi-retirement, and they will be a boon to our economy.
I expect home prices to rise at around 4-5% in most areas, higher for areas on the water and other prime greater Savannah locations. I expect this steady rise in home prices to continue into the foreseeable future, although no one has a crystal ball.
Another boon to our economy will be the eventual return of the soldiers at Hunter Air Field. I foresee the port system increasing its import and export business, and I also see an increase in hi-tech companies re-locating to the Savannah area. Our infrastructure is set up for hi-tech and you couldn’t ask for a more beautiful location to do business.
All in all, I see steady progress for Savannah. Those buying during this period of good deals and builder incentives will be happy they did years down the road. I had an impressed out-of-town client the other day say “Savannah is a great kept secret.” Well, it’s not so secret anymore.
