Pooler Parkway Booming -- 16 West

16westphoto.jpgSavannah Quarters, an upscale residential community in West Chatham, will soon be getting a commercial boost at the intersection of Pooler Parkway and Interstate 16 with the planned new retail development project – 16 West.

Over one million square feet of retail, dining and entertainment space is being planned with the completion date set in the Fall of 2009. The developers are Premier Properties out of Indianapolis, Indiana.

There will be 74,000 square feet of theater space! Premier Properties, in conjunction with Cobb Theaters, will be providing upscale theaters with a mezzanine level, a full-service restaurant and bar – movie-goers can reserve seats and enjoy a good meal and drinks while watching a movie.

This commercial project is sorely needed along this part of Pooler Parkway and will provide shopping and entertainment not only for the residents at Savannah Quarters, but for travelers along I-16 and I-95 and tourists and all residents of Savannah and Pooler. It will be about five minutes from downtown Pooler.

It’s exciting times for people in West Chatham and Pooler. This is a major undertaking. I will keep you updated on the progress.

I heard Premier is having financial problems. Someone else will probably buy it once the economy improves. It's a great idea, but it's an idea on hold.
